Help
Short answers to the usual questions.
What is dwnldr?
A service you use from your share sheet on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Share an X post and it comes back as a clean, screenshot-style card. For video posts, the real video plays inside the card. It also saves originals from TikTok, Instagram and Reddit.
How do I get access?
It's free while in beta. Request access with your email and your setup link arrives in seconds.
Requirements
- An iPhone or iPad, or a Mac running macOS Monterey or newer.
- Apple's Shortcuts app.
- Nothing else: no app to install, no account to create.
How do I set it up?
- Open the setup link from your email on any of your devices.
- Tap the dwnldr tile and add the Shortcut.
- That's it. dwnldr now appears in your share sheet everywhere.
Using it
Tap share on a post → pick dwnldr. X video posts ask once whether you want the rendered card or the original clip; everything else saves straight to Photos. Re-saving a post someone already rendered is instant.
Something didn't work?
- Failures show a notification with the actual reason (for example, a private or login-walled post).
- Very long videos can time out. Clips under a couple of minutes are the sweet spot.
- Stuck? Email [email protected] with the link you shared.
